Baby C Birth Story

Tuesday, October 8th, 2013

This sweet mama has given me permission to show some photos from her birth, while keeping her identity private. I’m glad I get to show just a few photos. I just love birth stories. They are just so special, and it’s so amazing to be able to participate in such a sacred event. Photographing Birth stories isn’t about the medical side of what happens in birth, it is the emotional side. It’s mom meeting baby for the first time. It’s dad holding baby for the first time. It’s the way he supported you and helped you while you labored. It’s capturing the beginning of a new family. It’s so emotional, and every mom I’ve done a birth story for has never regretted it. It truly is just so special. Plus, Dad gets to put the camera DOWN and be 100% present and there for you and baby, not worried about getting good photos to remember the birth by. I especially like that part.

Hudson’s Birth Story

Tuesday, May 22nd, 2012

There really are no words that I could say to describe this. So I won’t say much. The emotion in the photos speak for themselves, and to me that is priceless. Hayley and Brandon, THANK YOU for allowing me to be a part of this most momentous occasion in your lives. I don’t think I will ever forget it. I can’t even describe what this was like as a photographer, mother, someone who’s given birth, and a friend. It was amazing. Hayley was AMAZING! She gave birth to this child with ZERO pain meds. Not even a tylonol. She’s amazing. The nurses and team of midwives were so supportive, and brought such a peace and calm to the room. Plus they didn’t even mention the “E” word to Hayley once because they knew that’s not what she wanted. It was so incredible. Here is baby Hudson’s birth story told through photographs that will forever be a part of his family’s story and history. What an honor to be able to capture it.
