Want to know a little secret? I have the coolest photography buddies in the biz. Heather Nan invited me to come on her bridal shoot, and second shoot with her. It is always a pleasure getting to shoot in the most beautiful hotel in all of Utah, and then move to a location with familial sentimental value to the bride. You wouldn’t know by looking at the photos that it was super chilly. We appreciate a brave bride to stand out in the cold to make some beautiful photos.

Adventures in Underwater Photography

I have had this vision in my head for a while about taking some photos underwater. I have felt limited in doing it, because underwater DSLR cases are very very expensive to buy, or even rent! But, my cute husband came up with the solution of using a gopro! Duh! It was so fun strapping it to Claire’s chest while she jumped, splashed, and played all while recording video of her doing it. And it was extra fun for me to take photos under water. Because the photos aren’t as crisp underwater, it gives it kind of a film/vintage/holga feel. It’s always fun to do something different in photography! Bring on Summer!

I love several things. I love being asked to come and shoot with great talented friends such as Heather Nan . I love when I can show the images. And I really love when a bride and groom can just let go that there are cameras in front of them, be themselves, and let their love flow. They move slowly into poses which makes it able to capture those magical in-between moments. And they just love on each other with out us prompting them to. That’s what I love. Because I love it so, there are a lot of photos to show for it. Oh and I love flowers, and sunshine, and blossoms, and pretty light. And I love her veil. It’s one of the prettiest I’ve ever seen.

I just loved photographing these little cuties! I love incorporating movement into photos. Even though they’re not “picture perfect” (i.e. smiling and looking at the camera), I think it really shows their playfulness and innocence….things in childhood that don’t last forever.

Brynn & Samuel

Don’t you just love her name? I love it! Brynn is just as awesome, and sweet as her name. And Samuel’s love for her is quite evident. I love how genuine they are. And you wouldn’t know by the photos, but there was a cute little black and white dog who was crashing our shoot, and Samuel being the doggie lover he is, played fetch with him to get him out of our shots. Just another day’s work as a photographer with a doggie photo bomber!
