Hello! I'm Kate. Welcome to my blog! I'm so glad you stopped by! I am based in the Dallas/Fort Worth Texas area. My approach to photographing your wedding is an artful lifestyle approach paired with romantic and fun portraits. I love real laughter and real tenderness. When I'm not behind the camera, I'm caring for my two little ones, or editing behind a computer with my diet coke in hand, I hope to talk to you soon!
I’m thrilled to see this romantic editorial published on Adorn Mag! Click here to see the feature! Below are my photos from the shoot. Here is what Adorn had to say about the shoot: “When a bevy of fine art wedding photographers come together with design curated by Grit + Gold, you know it’s bound to be beautiful. Every photographer illustrates the talent that shapes this industry.” On the inspiration for the shoot, Stylist and Planner Lottie said “Our romantic, ethereal setting took place at an old textile mill in Fort Worth Texas named the BRIK. Soft textures were layered to give a romantic and dreamy aesthetic. minimalist design and simple styling lends to a natural and fresh bride.” The Dallas Wedding community is such a wonderful place to be, and I’m so glad I get to create beautiful images alongside such talented vendors who have so much heart!
Here in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, we have an amazing community of film photographers. Together we collaborate with a team of incredible vendors with a fine art vision and do film only editorials several times a year. One of us will work on the vision of the editorial with the stylist and planner and invite the others to come along and photograph it. We see it as a chance to raise the standard of our local industry and work together to make each other stronger. One of my favorite sayings is “a rising tide raises all ships” and that’s what we seek to achieve in collaborating together. Community always wins over competition.
On the styling of the inspiration shoot, stylist and planner Ashley said“Inspired by a dance between modern and chic refinement, this sculpture garden was the perfect backdrop. Midnight, fig and caramel was a dreamy fall palette to design with. We played with velvet in the paper suite and ribbons with blind embossing them and are still swooning over what Letter Love Studio produced. The charger plates had these distressed-like edges that favored the table perfectly too.
Pairing soft and gritty textures makes styling more interesting and draws you in more to the details. The organic florals leaned into deep tones and alluring structural lines which looked amazing in the bouquet against her sleek Sarah Seven gown. And what guy doesn’t look stellar in a bowtie? A velvet one just made it even better. Loved every bit of this collaboration and the creative team that worked together.”

Wow, wow, wow. I cannot believe another beautiful year of shooting has gone by. I could fill this entire post with beautiful jewelry and florals, and details, but for me, photographing has always been about the people. The people, love, connections, and tender moments I get to be a part of is what means the most. Thank you to everyone who stood in front of my camera in 2016 with trust in capturing such meaningful moments. It’s such an honor and I can’t wait to see what 2017 has in store!
Lauren and Jordan had their beautiful Winter wedding at the Milestone Mansion. They wanted a venue they felt reflected both of their personalities. Lauren and Jordan are high school sweethearts who couldn’t imagine life without each other. They have grown up together over the past 8 years, now they want to grow old together. Jordan loves how Lauren can laugh at herself and not take life too seriously. Lauren loves how Jordan is so selfless and always puts others before himself. Their wedding was an elegant and timeless reflection and celebration of their love for one another. Here are a few favorites from my day!
Laura and Charlie are a solid couple. They’re like a glue that’s inseparable. One reason why I love working with them is that they have history. They have been together many years and their bond is unbreakable. They are making their love official this Spring and I can’t wait to share in it with them. We found that the Dallas Turtle Creek area was a perfect spot for their engagement photos. It’s where they live and frequent as a couple. The lush trees and beautiful landscape suited their style and was a perfect backdrop to capture the love between them. We even got to take some photos right where their wedding will happen! Here are a few of my favorites from our session!
Jack and Jordan made their family official at the Hotel Crescent Court in downtown Dallas. It provided the perfect setting for their elegant and heart felt Dallas wedding. Jordan and Jack were surrounded by love the whole day, their love for one another and the love from their families. These two are the most genuine, good hearted people you could meet. I truly have the best clients in the whole world! Here are some of my favorite moments from the day. Their wedding was featured on the Black Tie Bride Blog.
